Making More of Less

This kitchen stands small but mighty in its high functionality. An integrated refrigerator and dishwasher were fitted behind cabinetry and an on-wall storage system maintains a clean line to this galley kitchen. Truffle brown pine cabinetry gives a pleasing contrast to white Carrara marble countertops and backsplash. A wall to display the client’s photography and cabinets with no handles finish out a slight but sleek and usable beauty. Friedemann Weinhardt

A red quartz countertop,  an outdated kitchen that was out of sync with their contemporary artistic style. An exceptional view and a location near their grown children gave them the perfect starting block for a space to entertain. Calcutta Gold marble for the floor and glass horizontal tile on the backsplash in a mix of matte and gloss finish was chosen to coordinate with the acrylic finished European cabinets. Roger W. A sophisticated but family-friendly kitchen was the goal. A convenient traffic flow through the L-shaped layout allows access to the back deck and dining room. A modern clean look with traditional references to incorporate the style of the home completes this smart design. Beverley Leigh Binns
