The Cross Dining Table for the inaugural collection of London-based Case Furniture. the table is a perfect example of Matthew’s talents. Made from a solid oak base with a veneered top, it is unusually large – when extended it can seat up to 14 people.

Winner Hume Revolving Book Tower

This book tower is a complex three-dimensional piece of furniture with storage for books and discs on all four sides. Samuel’s aim was to bring what he describes as “the most traditional of rooms”. The judges all agreed that he has been successful, commenting: “Samuel Chan has managed to update the bookstand for the 21st century with elegance and sensitivity.” Matthew Hilton
