Facett Collection

Thu 11 2007

2005-02-1426-addd.jpgThe combination of minimalist simplicity with monolithic austerity lends a distinctive air to the Facett collection. Also significant is the interesting way the upholstery has been processed. The patches and seams of the multiple-stitched fabric are reminiscent of the precise art of diamond cutting or the intricate folding techniques of Japanese origami. The design of the footrest is highly functional. Forming a kind of kit, it fits beneath the front of the armchair, transforming it into a chaise longue. Furthermore, the footrest, in combination with one of the carpets from the collection, can be used as a backrest when sitting upright or as a headrest when lying down. The possible usage of the whole Facett collection has been functionally thought out, and due to their compact dimensions, they fit comfortably into rooms of various sizes. Their aesthetics unfold as easily in a spacious loft as in a small city apartment. Facets of the new.
